Prototypes are running in the game Trainz – have to fix many issues
I hope to initially offer two variations:
1) Taconite; Enough mini-quads with unique skins/numbers for a 100 unit train – meaning 100 unique cars. ARN or something won’t work (as far as I can tell) because the prototype #’s are to complex. I also wanted to create several varieties of weathering. The art is setup for this so not as labor intensive as it sounds – I think in the game you would just put together the mini-quads as consists or the whole train as a consist and leave it. If I do each mini-quad as a single asset I’m not sure the physics would work around the corners as it would result in a 96′ car but this would result in 25 rather then 100 assets?? As of a couple of years ago the cars also had a combination of S2 and rebuilt A3 trucks on them and I have both varieties completed. These would come with custom sounds, sleeper script, etc. And static versions that would allow you to fill a yard with scenery items.
2) Raw ore (no extensions, each car with couplers): single cars which could probably use ARN or some other numbering system – have never setup ARN so this would take some monkey Biz. These would represent the cars as they were originally used starting with the first delivery in the late 1920′s – these were the versions that would have been behind the Yellowstones. Same deal as above.
